- Caesar's Malpais Legate, Joshua Graham, is covered in pitch and set on fire, then tossed into the Grand Canyon for his failure
- Lanius is named Legate
- Battle of Willow Beach takes place at Camp Willow, which is destroyed in the process. NCR forces pushed off from the east side of the Colorado River.
- Battle of Arizona Spillway takes place, and the NCR camp there is destroyed. Legion gains control of all territory east of the Colorado River.
2278 - The Bitter Springs Massacre takes place
- NCR troops assault Red Rock Canyon after 4 abductions and killings of NCR soldiers, massacre men, women and children
2280 - February: Boone meets Carla on leave at the Strip, she falls pregnant
- August: Boone leaves the NCR, marries Carla, moves to Novac with Carla and Manny
- October: Carla is sold to the Legion by Jeannie May Crawford, Boone tracks her down to Cottonwood cove and performs a mercy killing
2281 - Vulpes Inculta sends Legionaries to open barrels of toxic waste at Camp Searchlight, killing/ghoulifying most NCR stationed there
- NCR's gold reserves destroyed by the Brotherhood of Steel- the NCR dollar declines in value to 2.5 dollars per cap
- October: Boone meets the Courier, finds out who sold Carla, leaves Novac to travel with the Courier
2282 - The Second Battle of Hoover Dam ends with the NCR and Legion retreating from the Mojave
- During the battle: the NCR Embassy is bombed, and rioting breaks out in Freeside.
- The Fiends attack Camp McCarren but are easily pushed back.
- Camp Forlorn Hope is attacked by the Legion, but are pushed back by 1st Recon and the other troops stationed there.
- Camp Golf is attacked, but the Legion there are defeated.
- Novac is attacked by the Legion, but the Bright Brotherhood return from their pilgramage to help evacuate the town.
